Diagnosis, treatment and research on primary progressive aphasia

This free public event is open to all. It will be held both online and in person at AVC-Aphasie Laval (3350, boulevard Dagenais Ouest in Laval).

Dr. Paolo Vitali will speak about the different clinical variantsof primary progressive aphasia, their specific clinicalmanifestations and functional impact, and the underlyingneurodegenerative pathology. The importance of a precisediagnosis by means of a multidisciplinary team as well as bybiomarkers is highlighted in the light of the recent findingsregarding new treatment options for Alzheimer disease.
 

Dr. Paolo Vitali

Dr. Vitali is Assistant Professor inthe Department of Neurology andNeurosurgery in the Faculty ofMedicine and Health Sciences atMcGill University. His research fo-cuses on atypical patients withneurocognitive disorders who pre-sent with language disorders (Pri-mary Progressive Aphasia).
